What syncs between HostelMate and Agoda

  • Availability

    A booking, change or cancellation anywhere updates your Agoda calendar through our channel manager, and a bed sold on Agoda comes off every other site the same way.

  • Prices

    Nightly prices for each dorm and private room are set in HostelMate and sent to Agoda. Promotions you create in YCS are applied by Agoda on top of them.

  • Minimum stays and closed dates

    Set a minimum stay or close a date in HostelMate and Agoda gets the same rule. Cancellation policies stay in YCS.

  • Reservations

    New Agoda bookings arrive in HostelMate with the guest's name, dates and room. Bookings made before you connected come in with one pull, step 3 below.

How a hostel works on Agoda

  • Dorm beds priced per person

    On Agoda a dorm is a room type priced for one person, and what you have to sell is the number of free beds. HostelMate sends both from the same calendar as your other channels.

  • Mapped bed by bed

    Each Agoda room type is matched to a dorm or private room in HostelMate, so Agoda draws on the same count of beds as Hostelworld and Booking.com.

  • Channel Manager Mode

    Agoda only takes updates from a channel manager once Channel Manager Mode is on in YCS, and that needs an active Agoda contract. From then on, set prices and availability in HostelMate rather than in YCS.

Pricing on Agoda

  • A different price for Agoda

    Set Agoda a little above or below your base rate to allow for its commission, without changing what you charge anywhere else.

  • Seasons, weekends and events

    Set your base rates by season, weekend or event once in HostelMate, and Agoda gets them along with every other channel.

  • Minimum stays where they matter

    Ask for two nights over a festival weekend and one night the rest of the month. The rule goes to Agoda with the price.

Setup in three steps

    Turn on Channel Manager Mode

    In Agoda YCS settings, turn on Channel Manager Mode and choose Channex, the connection provider we use.

    Match rooms and rates

    Open the channel manager in HostelMate, select Agoda, and match each room type and rate. Change one price and check it in YCS.

  3. 3

    Pull existing bookings

    The connection only delivers new bookings. Pull the reservations already on Agoda into HostelMate straight away, so no bed is sold twice in the first week.

Questions about Agoda and HostelMate

Yes. A dorm goes on Agoda as a room type priced per person, and HostelMate keeps the number of free beds the same as on your other channels.

In the settings of YCS, Agoda's extranet. Turn it on, choose Channex as the provider, then finish the connection from HostelMate. You need an active Agoda contract.

Usually an Agoda promotion, which Agoda applies on top of the price we send. Check the rate in the YCS calendar, not on the public page. If the calendar is wrong too, check the mapping and run a full sync.

Yes. Set Agoda a little above or below your base rate in HostelMate and your other channels keep their own prices.

That follows your Agoda contract: Agoda can collect from the guest and pay you, or the guest pays at the hostel. Either way the booking lands in HostelMate.

It's included in both HostelMate plans: $19 a month for up to 30 beds or $45 with no bed limit, with no fee per booking from us. Agoda's own commission still applies to its bookings.
