Low Season Pricing: Don't stay stuck paying for empty beds

A property management subscription that actually shrinks when your hostel gets quiet. Your PMS expenses should adapt to your revenue, not strangle it.

Look, if you've run a hostel for more than a year, you know the feeling. It's mid-November, the summer backpackers are long gone, and you've maybe got 10 people sleeping in a 60-bed property. It's completely normal for the industry.

But what isn't normal is waking up on the 1st of the month watching your software provider auto-deduct the exact same huge fee they charged you in August. We want to fix that.

How Low Season Status Actually Works

To fiercely protect small operators, this is strictly built for businesses experiencing painful seasonal shifts. When you activate the status, we immediately drop your subscription fee for a maximum of 3 months per year.

  • The Price Drop: If you are on the Basic plan, your bill drops to just $10/month. If you are on the Advanced plan, your bill drops to $12/month.
  • The 20% Drop Qualification: Your expected occupancy during those requested 3 months must drop below 20% compared to a clear high season. For example, if you spend 4 months at 80% occupancy and then plummet to 20% for the winter, you absolutely qualify.
  • Total Access: Zero feature lockouts. You maintain 100% full access to your calendar, your channel integrations, and your direct booking engine.
  • The Steady Cruise Exemption: If your hostel runs steadily between 50% and 80% all year long without a major dip, you do not qualify. You have a stable, non-seasonal business.
  • Steady Underperformance Exemption: If your property runs below 50% occupancy for the entire year, you do not qualify. The Low Season Status is explicitly built to protect against sharp seasonal drops compared to a strong high season.

If you meet the structural requirements for the low season status and wish to initiate it, please email us directly with your property details at: contact@hostelmate.co

Questions We Always Get Asked About Low Season Pricing

Yes! As long as we can clearly see a drastic drop between your established 'high season' (like 70% or 80%) into a true 'low season' (below 20%), you qualify to activate the 3 months. It's all about proving the seasonal shift.

Once you verify your historical occupancy drops with our team, unlocking the status is a single click inside your billing dashboard. When those 3 months are up, the system gracefully resumes normal billing for your returning high season.

Absolutely zero hidden fees. We built Hostel Mate on radical transparency. You genuinely only pay the $10 or $12 rate for those specific months, plain and simple.
