Hostel PMS comparison: ten systems, with the prices written down
The best PMS for a hostel depends on three things: how many beds you have, whether each dorm bed needs to be sold on its own, and what you're willing to pay each month without phoning a sales team first. Under 30 beds and watching costs, the cheapest options that include a channel manager and a booking engine are HostelMate ($19 a month) and Beds24 (from €15.50, plus a small fee per channel link). A large or multi-site operation with a revenue manager is what Cloudbeds and Mews are built for, and you'll need a quote. Everything in between is in the table.

Mostly private rooms, a dorm or two: Sirvoy, from €11 a month. It counts four dorm beds as one room and doesn't map single beds.
Pay only when beds sell: HostelSnap, no monthly fee and from 10¢ per dorm guest-night. You'll need a separate channel manager.
A big property or several sites, with a revenue team: Cloudbeds or Mews. Neither publishes a price.
What actually matters for hostels
Single-bed inventory. Each dorm bed is sold, priced and moved on its own, with mixed, female and male dorms kept apart. Ask to see it, because some systems treat a dorm as a room: Sirvoy's own help pages say it assigns rooms, not individual beds.
Groups without chaos. Hold ten beds across two dorms on one booking, split the bill, and check the whole group in at once.
A channel manager that knows hostels. Hostelworld, Booking.com and Airbnb in sync from one place, bed by bed. Check which plan includes it: on Sirvoy it's Pro only, and Beds24 charges a small fee per channel link.
A booking engine on your own site. Direct bookings carry no OTA commission, so the engine should show dorm beds and privates the way guests search for them. Check whether the vendor takes a cut: BananaDesk charges 4% when it processes the payment.
Payments and deposits. Card payments, OTA virtual cards, deposits and the balance at the desk, all tied to the booking they belong to.
Reports that count beds. Occupancy by bed and revenue per available bed, not only per room.

Cloudbeds, Mews and FrontDesk Master publish no fixed price, and Little Hotelier's site blocked our check, so those figures are reported by third parties (Costbench, HotelMinder) or come from our own quote. Each system in two lines
HostelMate Built only for hostels: PMS, channel manager and booking engine in one, with WhatsApp messages and Stripe payments. Lite covers 30 beds and Advanced has no limit. It has far fewer integrations than Cloudbeds.
Cloudbeds One of the most used platforms among hostels, with split inventory for rooms sold as dorms or privates and a few hundred integrations. Priced by quote and sized for bigger operations.
Mews A modern PMS that sells beds and rooms from the same inventory, with strong automation. Built for groups with revenue staff, and priced per room by quote.
Sirvoy Simple and cheap, with a free plan for one room. It assigns rooms rather than single beds, and the channel manager is on Pro only.
Beds24 Flexible and inexpensive, with deep documentation and an API. You pay a little per channel link and per extra login, and you do the setup yourself.
FrontDesk Master A long-standing hostel specialist with a bed-view calendar and staff tools. Prices come from a calculator on its site.
WebRezPro Sells individual dorm beds and charges $10 per room a month, with a $100 minimum. Channel connections come through integrations.
Little Hotelier SiteMinder's system for small properties, counted in rooms. Reported from $29 a month plus a 1% fee per booking on Basics.
BananaDesk Hostel software priced by guest capacity, from $35 a month with the channel manager included. Its booking engine is free, or 4% when BananaDesk processes the payment.
HostelSnap No monthly fee: you pay per guest-night instead. It has no channel manager of its own, so you keep a separate one.

For a hostel under about 30 beds that wants one published price, HostelMate ($19 a month) and Beds24 (from €15.50 plus channel fees) are the cheapest options that include a channel manager and a booking engine. For a large or multi-site operation with a revenue team, Cloudbeds and Mews are built for that scale, and both price by quote.
Of the ten on this page, HostelMate, Cloudbeds, Mews, Beds24, FrontDesk Master and WebRezPro sell single dorm beds. Sirvoy says on its own help pages that it assigns rooms, not individual beds. BananaDesk, HostelSnap and Little Hotelier don't say clearly on the pages we could read, so ask them to show you a mixed dorm in a demo. How HostelMate does it: bed-level inventory.
Cloudbeds and Mews are built for groups with central revenue and finance teams. HostelMate runs several hostels from one login, each on its own plan, which suits two or three properties better than a chain.
Some can, and most don't do it well. Software built around rooms either treats a dorm as one room or needs workarounds to sell beds one at a time, and the trouble shows up when one dorm sells on three sites at once or a group needs beds together.
For a single room, Sirvoy's free plan costs nothing. For a real hostel with a channel manager, Beds24 (from €15.50 plus €0.55 per channel link) and HostelMate ($19 a month for up to 30 beds, everything included) are the cheapest published prices we found. HostelSnap has no monthly fee and charges per guest-night instead.
Not a separate one, as long as the PMS includes it and syncs Hostelworld, Booking.com and Airbnb bed by bed. Check what the price covers: Sirvoy includes it on Pro only, Beds24 charges per channel link, and HostelSnap has none of its own.
